halcyon_garden | Bat Boxes and Signs of Spring

A local environmentalist was there to put up five bat boxes on our trees. Bats can hopefully start to move into these in spring.

This style of bat box is modeled after a tree cavity like those created by woodpeckers.

This is a crevice style bat box that mimics the gaps underneath old tree bark when it starts separating from the trunk.

I saw a lot of signs of early spring as well. Some of the elder bushes are making new leaves already.
